Mohair yarn is made from the soft hair of angora goats. It is different from angora yarn, which is made from angora rabbit fur, not goats.
Mohair yarn has a strong center and a fuzzy halo, making it difficult to work with but very soft to touch. It is considered a luxury yarn, in the same class as merino and alpaca.
Woven mohair is fluffy, making it warm in the winter. It wicks moisture away from the skin, making it comfortable in summer as well.
