Bamboo

Bamboo yarn is made from the cellulose of, you guessed it, bamboo! This yarn is very soft and lustrous and is often compared to silk. It is very flexible, giving the things I weave from it a really nice drape.

Bamboo is a grass and grows very quickly without fertilizer. After being harvested it grows back from the roots. This is a very sustainable fiber.

This work in progress is being woven with a blend of bamboo and silk.
