2020 Three Joy Scarfs

This was a fun project, or three, depending on how you count. I shared a photograph of some yarn on Facebook, and asked people what the colours made them think of or feel.

The most common answer was “Joy”. So I wove three scarfs, each using the joy yarn for the weft, or side to side threads, and each using different kinds and colours of yarn for the warp, or lengthwise threads. Into each scarf is woven the word “Joy” in Morse Code. I used a single white thread to represent a dot, and a double thread to represent a dash.

A note about colour accuracy: I make the images look as close as possible to the real thing on my screen. They may look a bit different on the screen you are using. Some colours are hard to capture well and look much nicer in person.
